time to develop my brief.

the purpose of my space is a Political Strategy Institute (PSI)
think of a think tank/ CSIRO for politics.

I stole the organisational chart from the CSIRO to assess how much/what spaces I would need.

It's quite hard to see this image properly, so here is a link: http://www.csiro.au/files/files/ptf8.pdf

the government departments in Australia were then investigated and it was determined that 13 departments would be needed for the PSI

-  Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
- Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy
- Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency
- Department of Defence
- Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
- Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs
- Department of Finance and Deregulation
- Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
- Department of Health and Ageing

project two

the districts of our masterplan were divided.

i got the area near capital circle.

we decided to explore our original idea of the moving stations as our main flexible element.
developing sketch ideas:

cable car like moving elements... or perhaps a tank like bottom to deal with differences in foundations and ease of moving

structure built over large tracks:

grid like foundation, slotting in walls to create structures when necessary:

we decided to implement a flexible foundation with modular architecture. flexible posts would secure the buildings in.
the flexible foundation could also be used as a flexible landscape and have different arrangements, i.e becoming an amphitheatre;

perhaps there could be a fixed core which modules are attached/detached?
one core services many modules

module shapes and configurations
